Demand Planner Reviews
What is it like working as a Demand Planner?
August 2016
Demand Planner:
Pros: Busy environment. Analytical. Lots of communication. Responsibility. Challenging. Experience. Learning. Progression. Knowledge.
February 2016
Critical Inventory Management.
Demand Planner:
Pros: As a demand planner, I have to do sales analysis and do forecast as accurate as possible in order balance inventory stock level as required by the company.
Cons: Low salary given by the company.
December 2015
Challenging.
Demand Planner:
Pros: Strategic negotiation with suppliers (contracts, prices, stock), international contact with suppliers, demand forecast and over stock control, cross company / industry role.
Cons: The not recognition of the well done job or the negotiation achievements.
October 2015
Stuck.
Demand Planner:
I whish I'd known that I may get stuck in this position with no way to advance further. My pay is pretty much at a stand still and advancement opportunities are almost nil.
October 2015
Work flexibility.
Demand Planner:
Pros: Visual contribution to final product.
Cons: Vendors having more control over the parts I need.
July 2015
Supply chain at its best!
Demand Planner:
Pros: You do a lot of supply chain. Always working on managing demand, monitoring for reorders, forecasting, adjusting forecasts, trying to find better ways to forecast.
I like that I am the one who says when and how much needs to be reordered.
Cons: No training. My boss sat down with me the 1st day and showed me how to use some software. The employee handbook has only company policies in it. The only time I learn things is when my boss asks why I haven't been doing something. Then I know to do it.
There is high turnover everywhere. People are always leaving and always new people.
February 2015
Corporate culture, but no direction.
Demand Planner:
Pros: Corporate Culture, travel, client facing, work flexibility, analyst of data, being creative.
Cons: Management, promote from within, have to change departments to get promoted, high school feeling, get in with the right group to move ahead. No development from management. Kept in dark. Pay is low.
