Advice.
Dance Teacher in Birmingham:
Always be flexible, and open-minded. Approach every new teaching role as an opportunity to learn, as well as to engage with and stimulate your students. Don't communicate negativity. We all get frustrated with our students, but channel this energy into determination - work hard to improve on their skills and technique, to inspire them and bring them to focus. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX. Don't remain stuck and isolated in a single approach or method. Keep your body and mind open. Have resolve. You will know if/and when it's right to move on. Never undercut yourself, or under-sell. Make sure your basic rate of pay is in keeping with the general standards set by authorised umbrella bodies. Talk to other dance teachers, network, and support one another. If you work for £10 an hour, open negotiations to change this. If you work for £15 do the same. If you set the bar for low wages, it will stick. And this undermines both your abilities, and self-worth.

The Joy Of Being A Dance Teacher.
Dance Teacher:
Pros: I love the fact that I get to facilitate students transition into movement as language. This form of expression is uniquely technical and so it requires technical minds to nurture and express this art. The gratification that is felt when a student finally understands how his/her body works to achieve a movement is indescribable! All the instructors work at the same level, in terms of adhering to rules that govern student assessment and discipline and I appreciate that. The work environment is adequately prepared and the camaraderie among peers and instructors is good.
Cons: The hours. I would like more hours but that is not possible since I only teach on a Saturday from 10-12.
