Community Relations Coordinator:
Pros: I love how relational my job is and that everything we do we do as a team. Working at a non-profit you learn a range of skills and wear multiple hats. You get to experience and learn all parts of how businesses work without it actually being a business. The fact everyone is working with compassion but with a business mindset is wonderful to experience and witness.
Cons: The least is the lack of benefits and time off. Everyone is a necessary factor and as soon as one leaves things can fall a part. Literally a 24 hour job without it being that.
May 2015
Fits my personality.
Community Relations Coordinator:
Pros: I'm great with people. I get to talk and write about the nonprofit I work for, and convince other people that they should love it as much as I do. The culture is very supportive, and I get to be fairly autonomous in my work. Management is flexible about PTO time.
Cons: I wish there were more opportunities for upward mobility. I feel my salary does not reflect the value I add to the agency.
