Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Reviews
What is it like working as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)?
February 2021
It depends on the surveyor you get for your area. The job can be very rewarding or highly stressful.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in Boise:
Pros: I'm working at my own job. Doing what I want to do. And I'm helping people less fortunate have a good home, Healthcare and medication on time.
Cons: No vacation. I have to find another certified home to watch my patients if I want the time off.

Over worked and unpaid.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in Dover:
Pros: That they don’t call us aides the call us “Techs”
Cons: I don’t like that management only supports nurses but not the techs who are the back bone doing the dirty work. And when the nurses get the “you’re always right” treatment they KNOW that the can do or say whatever and they will have no repercussions for it

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in Port Orchard:
Pros: I like being able to help the clients/patients that I work with, along with helping their families. The client is always my number one priority, which if I can make them happy, along with keeping them safe and fulfilling my duties as a CNA, I'm very happy after that shift.
I am happy that I am able to let the office know when I have appointments or will be unavailable, eg. that I don't need to fill out special paperwork for the day off every time I have a doctor's appointment.
Cons: There is a lot of negative judgement that can be brought on by a client's family or even the office. No matter how much I try to make them all happy, the family is always correct, which then leads to me getting in trouble. The office will call and send messages at all hours of the day, for shift offers or other things.
Also, I am currently underpaid for my education level and my years of work that I have put in as a CNA. Especially that I've put in all 7 of these years as a CNA at this same particular company.

I have worked for Oak Hill for almost 16 years. I am a CNA. They do have their problems but I can say this people do come back . Administration does care about the residents and staff . Resident care is very important to everyone. One problem they do have is mandation. But that’s a double edge sword. Oak hill offers excellent retirement package. They also offer vacation , health, dental , vision , and life insurance.
