Catering Sales Manager Reviews
What is it like working as a Catering Sales Manager?
July 2016
Lot of run around with not much compensation.
Catering Sales Manager:
Pros: Meeting new people.
Cons: Waiting to get paid.
June 2015
Must LOVE people...and Dogs.
Catering Sales Manager:
Pros: Each day is something new, there's no time to get bored or complacent. I have continual interaction with clients and I get to meet new people.
Cons: I work a LOT of hours and the position is Salary Exempt so there is rarely any comp time given, it can get exhausting after working 13 hour days for 15 straight days.
March 2015
Opportunity to grow.
Catering Sales Manager:
Pros: We have a well respected catering company in the region as a parent company. This helps our reputation for quality. The smallness of our company allows me to move about different roles and responsibilities. I started in account management and now I'm actively working in sales and marketing.
Cons: The smallness of our company causes a lot of confusion about roles and responsibilities. There are some SOPs that aren't in place that most catering companies have (ex. Recipes).
March 2015
Opportunity to learn and grow.
Catering Sales Manager:
Pros: Haute Catering is a small but growing company. We have the backing of a large and well-respected caterer in the region, so much of our reputation comes from that. Because our part of the company is smaller, I have room to learn many different roles and aspects of the company. I previously only handled account management. Now I am focusing on sales and marketing. There is the opportunity for growth.
Cons: The small company culture creates a lot of confusion about job roles and responsibilities. There is much to be done to create a complete culture of professionalism in this company. Focus is always how to make more money and not focusing on the quality and training of employees.
November 2014
Be a team player learn as much about the company you work fo.
Catering Sales Manager:
Be a team player. Learn as much as possible about the company good and back and learn how to fix it..
November 2013
Catering Sales Manager:
Pros: I enjoy working with the client to put together their ideal event. I enjoy the fast paced environment and the challenges of gaining new clientele and meeting targets
Cons: I dislike the stress factor that comes along with entrusting the event to run smoothly (the execution of the event) and having to follow up with clients whose events did not go well.
