Tips for Interviewing (Corporate Catering Focused)
Catering Manager:
Make sure whoever is interviewing you does not complain about the positions, people or environment of the company. This is a huge red flag. Ensure to ask about training and who/what support is available for the position applying for. Ask what the biggest challenge is for the position, location, and company you are appying for are. Culinary and Hospitality Degrees are always a plus in this type of position, along with Serv Safe Sanitation & Alcohol Licenses. Previous experience in a similar environment, food service, and supervisory positions are a plus. If you are not organized, fast paced, able to work under pressure, and very customer service oriented, this is NOT the position or field for you. There are a long list of daily responsibilities for this position, this is not the type of position that is only going to have duties listed on the initial job description. From managing employees, event planning, product ordering, inventory, taking care of finances and payroll, etc...
