Pros: I enjoy being able to work with at risk individuals. It's wonderful having a job where every day is different. I've been a manager of this position and did not enjoy overseeing employees due to the monotony, but have experience supervising for 1.5 years. I love the holiday leave and vacation benefits.
Cons: I do not like having to work in dangerous areas of town now that daylight is limited with fall/winter hours. I'm getting burned out on child welfare and would like to see another end of social work.

Create boundaries for yourself in the way you manage your workload/caseload. Having systems in place to address workflow and timely processing, while maintaining regular contact with clients is essential. Use technology to your advantage.
