Life of the humble butcher.
Butcher / Meat Cutter:
Pros: The customers are great for the most part. Everybody has to eat and most of us eat meat so you end up with a lot of business acquaintances and connections because people want to grill a steak or pork chop but they sure as hell don't want to kill it and get all bloody and covered in guts then cut it up and package it. Not to mention the fact that most people would have no clue where to start with a live animal from the field and the cost of the equipment needed is astonomical. So therefore it's makes a good bargaining chip and can be used to barter for just bout anything, remember 98% of people are ignorant to this trade. It's a skill that you will have forever and can take anywhere and no matter where you go you will be in demand, also it would be a priceless skill set in a survival situation.
Cons: Ignorance. It's abound from farmers to customers to the public. Farmers don't get if they schedule an animal and they don't show time is wasted therefore money is wasted. Customers dont seem to understand that if the order an animal they need to give you their cutting order so it can be processed and many customers are just uneducated they don't understand the concept that they ordered an animal not a box of meat. So you have to play teacher (wasting time) or worse they freak when you educate them and they decide they don't wanna put forth the effort to learn and drop it on you so now you have to find a customer for an animal that could have a total cost of $2000-up before it spoils. Lastly thanks to PETA we are viewed as evil scary sick sadistic people that like to hurt animals but that isn't always the truth. Fact is you gotta eat to live and you gotta work to eat its a necessary trade albeit unpleasant. And of course blood, guts, and odors are awful as well bet ya coulda guess that.
