I Guess It's Better Than Nothing.
Automotive Service Technician / Mechanic:
Pros: I like cars and turning wrenches. Most of the people I work with are decent, hardworking people.
Cons: The pay is not enough to make a living. It's also very dirty and unsanitary-we're encouraged to change our uniforms at work but there is no locker room, and the bathroom floor is filthy.

Pros: I enjoy learning new skills to diagnose and repair all types of passenger cars, including use of all types of automotive diagnostic equipment from historical to the newest available.
My personal satisfaction of knowing that another correctly diagnosed and repaired vehicle is put back into happy customers hands.
Cons: Our new company director. Can't do much about that so just do my job the best I can. Its the staff and customers that keep me at this job, have to have some loyalty.

Good Trade, Just Need Equal Pay Scale.
Automotive Service Technician / Mechanic:
Thanks to the new OCOT (Ontario College of Trade) there is new annual cost just to hold a ticket in this trade. They have yet to do any good with all this money from the fees. 1.8 million a year in paid fees to them.
