I went to Michigan State, a research university. I knew that wasn't really what I wanted to do ... I wanted to teach. I didn't know places like this really existed, otherwise, I might have made a straight line here rather than the long and winding road through high school and a masters to a doctorate at the same time as raising 2 young kids and working full time.
