Associate Product Manager Reviews

What is it like working as an Associate Product Manager?

December 2015
Think broad.
Associate Product Manager:
Choose a major that is diverse and doesn't limit you to one industry. You don't know where you will be ten years after graduating. Don't stop marketing yourself or networking. Create your own opportunities. Work quick. Be approachable. Communicate clearly. When problem solving, think through the situation from start to finish; think through pros and cons. Always ask questions. Play devil advocate.
November 2015
A new challenge everyday.
Associate Product Manager:
Pros: Working as an Associate Product Manager allows me to be involved in every aspect of new product development and the product life cycle. I am able to participate in Engineering, R&D, Marketing, Quality, Production, etc. This give me a very broad range of knowledge of our product line and the challenges we face. I.
Cons: I am involved in every aspect of new product development and the product life cycle with no true authority to accomplish necessary tasks. It can be very political to get buy in from cross-functional teams when they have their own goals to accomplish. Each department is not always aligned with what is best for the product line as a whole rather than the individual or department.

A Lot Of Project Management And Organization.

December 2013
Best Place To Start A Marketing Career.
Associate Product Manager:
Pros: No project has ever been the same and there is a ton of travel that allows me to broaden my view. The management team is extremely supportive of personal development as well as welcoming creative solutions. Close to full autonomy to how, when and where I work.
Cons: Travelling can sometimes be a bit too much, especially with all the projects assigned and 60 million dollars in revenue worth of products to manage.
December 2013
Content With My Job.
Associate Product Manager:
Pros: Good work. Challenging work. Good team. Good learning.
Cons: Politics. Remuneration. HR policies. Medical reimbursement.
