May 2016
Very little scope for promotion in most companies.
Architectural Draftsman:
Marketing knowledge is absolutely essential, and always stay up to date with the latest in technology. You need to have a relatively good understanding of pc hardware and software, and the ability to visualise stuff in your mind's eye to be able to put it on paper. You must be kindof arty, and be able to think out the box.

Its low enough pay that im stuck in this job.
Architectural Draftsman:
Its bad pay for big hours, stress, working for a man who is incompetent himself and has major anger issues. Saving up money to make a move to a decent job with savings security has been very difficult. I would love this job if it payed at least a reasonable amount that I wouldn't be always worried about my finance.
I started on a measly $10 an hour and now after over 6 years I'm on, wait for it....$16(something) and no bonuses what so ever. For the first 3 years I was also paid as a casual, no holiday pay, so holidays were very hard times. I get no overtime bonus but am expected to work back & get up my time in lieu.
In the past I have completed up to a 15 hour day with no breaks, this happened a lot at the time. My boss was cashing in on my need for a bit more money & the excess of work about. My employer done very well during this period. For the majority I don't even get paid on time. Like 3 weeks late(so 5wks since my last pay). This year I haven't gotten a pay rise.

June 2014
Architectural Draftsman:
Pros: Interesting projects, creativity.
Cons: High stress, low pay, income not in line with education level, low employment protection, flooded market, poor conditions, little to no advancement.
