Know the Growth, Know your Worth.
Aesthetician/Esthetician:
Ensure that the company has adequate room for lateral growth. Otherwise your worth will quickly out-weigh your growth.
Be informed on new modalities but stay true to the basics of skin care and physiology.
Remember that just because something is popular, advertised or celebrity endorsed, does not make it appopriate for your client's skin.
Skin is skin. However, there are many internal and external factors that affect the skin. Don't be swayed by what a Dermatologist suggested. You are the expert in skin care; They are the experts in skin diseases. There should be a completely different approach to clients. We, as estheticians should be educating our guests on prevention and regular skin maintainence, so more being proactive. (Not Rodan and Fields 😔) 😉. People are more likely to see a Dermatologist for retroactive procedures.
Although your environment should be pretty zen, there will be stress. Physical and mental. Be sure to proactively care for yourself as well.
