To be creative and energetic interact with residents on their level show kindness and compassion and smile - always listen to them be responsive to their needs.Have an open door policy. Always put residents first - always help out in any situation if needed.

Cons: Drama.

Pros: The reward and feed back of our residents. The smiley faces, the light in their eyes.
Cons: Being excited about a project to present to our resident and it's a flop.

It's Exciting, Rewarding, Challenging, Fun.
Activity Director:
Pros: Our residents are wonderful. Anything I do for them, they return ten-fold.
Cons: Working with management.

Activity Director:
You can't teach someone to be outgoing and energetic, so if you are not those things, this may not be the position for you. You have to smile a lot and give lots of hugs and that is also one of the major perks :)

Community Involvement.
Activity Director:
Pros: Wonderful and rewarding. Working with seniors is my passion.
Cons: The pay and working weekends. I also would love to have an assistant or more volunteers, as we have many events.
