Poor Communication and Misleading Benefits.
Accounting Technician in Portland:
Pros: There are occasional fun events with free food.
Cons: Management is secretive about changes and tells us constantly we are appreciated but does not back that up with actual evidence, poor pay, low benefits such as a 401k with a max match of 2% and 1 week of PTO which includes vacation and sick time, and no maternity/paternity leave.

It’s kind of boring. It’s a great beginning job for someone with an associates degree, but it is a little slow sometimes.

Pros: The hours are flexible, most of the employees are friendly, and it’s not stressful.

Accounting Technician:
Poor management, low pay, no respect for skills. A great many employees were promoted into management level positions because of who they knew, not what they know. Their safety program is a joke, and they don't complaints seriously enough.
