Staples, Inc. Reviews

What is it like working at Staples, Inc.?

Sales Consultant:
Underpaid / underappreciated, otherwise not bad. Some nice folks there. Works well with schedules. Customers usually nice to work with as well. Underpays employees badly. Good coworkers usually leave for better pay quickly, even some of the bad ones can be paid better elsewhere.
Retail Sales Supervisor:
Out of the 20 direct supervisors/managers I had (some got moved but most got fired) only 5 of them actually cared about their teams and looked out for the best of their employees. In addition of the 4 district managers I had, only 1 fought for his team. Every HR and Ethical concern I had was swept under the rug by HR and the problem employee/manager/individual was just moved to another store without disciplinary action being taken. The anonymous ethics reporting tool is not helpful as it takes too long for an investigation and most times there is no issue found. So many of my former coworkers didnt report their concerns due to fear of retaliation or the lack of consequences if there was anything that came of the investigation.
Okay.
Sales Associate:
Pros: Strives for good customer service. Pushes employees to meet goals.
Cons: Underpaid. Some unethical management.
Just Another Retail Job.
Computer Technician:
Pros: Relaxed environment. Manageable workload for the pay.
Cons: With Obamacare being in effect, it's next to impossible to gain full-time status. All part-timers are capped at 25 hours per week.
Retail General Manager (GM):
Pros: Years age the company was growing and managed well. In recent years I have become one with some of the companies decisions and direction.
Cons: To much pressure and stress in areas that are beyond my control.
