Safeway, Inc. Reviews

What is it like working at Safeway, Inc.?

I've had worse jobs.
Meat Wrapper in Yakima:
Pros: I'm always busy and I enjoy what I do for the most part. I honestly like helping people if I can
Cons: From a customer service aspect... Well sometimes there's just no helping some folks, whether it's cause they are having a bad day or you have to tell them sorry we ran out From a company stand point, no communication between corporate and individual stores and I feel like most of us feel unappreciated. Also I hate not being able to order the add items cause the warehouse is out
I enjoy my interaction as a cashier and have good relations with everyone.
Cashier in Eureka:
Pros: I most like about the job is helping the customers and being there to assist and help them.
Cons: I least like all the nit picking among co workers. There is a symbiosis of a peck order.
I teach more then I am taeched.
Bakery Manager in Sacramento:
Pros: People respect my values and knowledge
Cons: Trying to advance is really difficult because no one leaves above me
Retail Store Assistant Manager in Roseville:
Pros: helping the customers and putting a smile on other peoples faces.
Cons: The lack of intuitive thinking and bickering from my team mates
Treated like an idiot. To them, I’m just a stick figure.
Sales Clerk/Cashier in San Ramon:
Pros: Fellow employees are real people
Cons: Overall poor treatment by management. No recognition for what we do. It takes a special person to handle up to 200 customers a day and leave them with a positive attitude about the store when you know the filthy sweat shop is really a dive and inferior to stores like Whole Foods, TJs, Costco. Albertsons acquisition really destroyed Safeway
Decent pay, good for part time.
Sales Clerk/Cashier in Morgan Hill:
Pros: Short commute and somewhat consistent schedule.
Cons: Main store support is lacking if assistance is needed. Customer service can be tough , but if you are a good cashier, this job will be good!
Busy.
Produce Clerk (Grocery) in North Las Vegas:
Pros: Learning all the different types of fruits.
Cons: Too many games. They only are nice when it benefits them.
