Fidelity Investments Reviews

What is it like working at Fidelity Investments?

Mediocre at Best.
Financial Representative in Rifle:
Pros: Fidelity Investments is a great company overall, but with the senior management in place at the site I currently work for, there is mobility and one person who holds a grudge can sabotage your career. Better leadership is needed at the site I am at.
Cons: The leadership team and the constant change to "promotable" metrics.
Great technology company to work for overall.
Software Development Manager in Apex:
Pros: Great benefits. Job stability (privately held company). Great talent. Good learning opportunities for engineers.
Cons: Hard for a female to break through the glass ceiling in middle management. Lower salaries than competition (mostly made up by financial benefits).
Life in the fast lane.
Desktop Engineer in Worcester:
Pros: Collegial atmosphere. Learning from people around you is encouraged. Everyone very willing to share which is something management has to cultivate and is NOT always the case at other companies. For the most part real bad seeds are weeded out.
Cons: Little opportunity for advancement. You will stay a contractor till you demand to be converted.
Decent work and base pay, great benefits.
Software Engineer / Developer / Programmer in Durham:
Pros: The wealth and retirement planning resources are top-notch and free - Fidelity makes available to its employees what it does best (long term investing).
Cons: Heralds itself as a tech company that happens to be in finance, but has a lot of catching up to do in its tech stack and process. Lots of figuring out in the works about governance rules, etc due to disparate resources and some bureaucracy.
Preparing People for Financial Success.
