Edward Jones Reviews
What is it like working at Edward Jones?
At times very rewarding.
Sr. Administrative Assistant in Terre Haute:
Pros: Location, the actual work I perform
Cons: that our 2 person office is supposed to be like partners/equals yet the financial advisor gets bigger and better perks.
Take charge of your day.
Administrative / Office Manager in Campbell River:
Pros: At the moment, not much.
Cons: Outside of your direct manager, there is no one you can go to if you have issues with your Financial Advisor. Although you are told that you call HR, the advisor is always the one who is believed and protected.
Office Administrator in Los Angeles:
Pros: Helping clients
Administrative / Office Manager:
Interesting job with good work environment - there is a lot of support for the Financial Advisors re: career development and perks. Very little for the Branch Office Administrators, salary is outdated, pay is similar to that of a receptionist. The only way for BOAs to earn more is if the Financial Advisor shares a part of the percentage of their bonus, which is very, very low.
Office Administrator:
Was told I would get more pay and better bonuses and sooner, but haven’t. A little disappointing, but overall happy. They offer benefits but I didn’t need any of them. Wish they matched 401. My old job offered better benefits.
Mixed Review.
Office Administrator:
Pros: Mostly great people and culture as a whole.
Company has a great philosophy.
Cons: Training is mostly on the job.
A person must come with innate ability to organize themselves.
The work environment is as a whole determined by the Financial Adviser. Each office has only one Financial Adviser and one Branch Office Administrator. If the Financial Adviser is a good leader, the office tends to have a good vibe. If the Financial Adviser is immature, inexperienced, etc., the office suffers no matter how good the assistant is.
Compensation is low compared to the amount of work both Financial Adviser and Administrative Assistant must accomplish.
