Positive experience over all.
Civil Engineer in Johannesburg:
Pros: Nice offices and interesting projects.
Cons: The company tends to focus too much on the bottom line and will quickly retrench staff. There is a very corporate environment (stiff and quiet). The economy has faced some hard times of late. Consequently, the projects which the company has taken on often come with extremely tight deadlines and budgets. Working in this environment is not conducive to innovation (one of Hatch's core values).
Good.
Civil Engineer in Umhlanga:
Pros: Ok, exciting educational and a sense of achievement.
Cons: Salary. Performance does not get recognised.
