Caterpillar, Inc. Reviews

What is it like working at Caterpillar, Inc.?

Interesting.
Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) Inspector in East Peoria:
Pros: Challenging and satisfying.
Cons: Top pay and lay offs.
Demanding.
Senior Project Engineer in Peoria:
Pros: Variety
Cons: Red tape
OK.
Assembly Line Worker, Factory in Lafayette:
Pros: Lots of opportunities for overtime
Cons: Poor management.
Territory Manager:
Caterpillar is really falling short of employee satisfaction. They keep taking things away and saying it's in line with other companies, not exactly accurate. Many of the good employees are leaving or have left. The new employees don't have the same values that Cat has always been known for. Customers and the Cat Dealer network aren't held as high as they once were. Would no longer recommend Caterpillar to anyone.
Great place.
Welder:
Pros: The people and the products we build.
Cons: Love it.
Excellent place to work.
