Best Western International, Inc. Reviews

What is it like working at Best Western International, Inc.?

Very fun, interactive, creative and compelling.
Marketing Manager in Chilliwack:
Pros: My fellow management and the people involved
Cons: Nothing
Simple, decent work that is stress free.
Receptionist in Sidney:
Pros: i like being able to interract with people and i enjoy how the work doesn't ever seem out of its pay grade.
Cons: Being able to keep myself busy, but also having time to relax.
Very hard to keep the employees, not any incentive.
General Manager, Hotel in Santa Cruz:
Every best western is operated independently . We are a chain of the Best Western International. Every owner in each BW hotel decide what to offer to the employees and how treat them. Not any kind of incentives, and some times I had to cover night shifts because employees do not stay longer , is fine is I do it once in while but for the last months are happened very often and is not any kind of compensation just helping the owner, some one has to be a the desk and is look I am the only one had to do it.
Management.
Night Auditor in Kansas City:
Pros: Helping people and going above and beyond to do the job to the best of my abilities and set a good example for my fellow co-workers. My co-workers are fantastic.
Cons: Management/Ownership. They don't care a lick about their employees and look at anyone and everyone as replaceable no matter how good of a job they do and no matter how punctual and reliable they may be. They reward bad behavior and don't reward good behavior. They show zero appreciation to their employees when they go above and beyond to help the company succeed. There's been countless times I've had to juggle 3 different jobs at once (My job as night auditor, breakfast, and shuttles) and numerous co-workers of mine have had to do the exact same thing, and management just acts like it's nothing. There's been numerous occasions of us running out of paper plates/plastic silverware/breakfast items like yogurt, milk, eggs, sausage, butter, oatmeal, etc, and each time this happens me and my co-workers have to bear the brunt of all the angry customers staying at our hotel because they don't even have a plate to eat their breakfast off of. Our management is the definition of incompetence.
Night shift.
Night Auditor in Welches:
Pros: I love what I do and I love this company.
Cons: I wish the night shift (auditing shift) could get hazard pay on top of regular pay. Especially since we work by ourselves every night. Weekends and holidays are especially scary all by yourself with mean drunks and mentally abusive people running around. I feel our base pay should be $3-$5 above minimum wage. Also adding the fact that we do the laundry, pick up after houseman and night crew, make breakfast, and more.
Front Desk Clerk:
Pros: Meeting the many different guests and never a dull shift.
Cons: Odd hours and low pay.
It's a great job ,but I think I deserve better pay and benef.
Executive Housekeeper:
Pros: The staff, and making my guests feel like they are at home...just knowing tht I can help someone and make there visit just that much better.
Cons: My manager not managing and I get stuck doing everything that is not my job label.
