Private John Hopkins University is located in Baltimore and offers a variety of undergraduate programs including the arts, sciences, engineering and education. Woodrow Wilson, 28th President of the United States, attended Johns Hopkins. Also, Johns Hopkins graduates have won the Nobel Prize in at least two different areas, including Physiology or Medicine and Physics. John Hopkins University is famous for its medical school and teaching hospital.
Another school on our list of the best value colleges in Maryland is University of Maryland at College Park. This educational institution is much less expensive than John Hopkins, but still boasts of a long list of notable graduates. One of them is “Muppets” creator Jim Henson who is commemorated on campus grounds with a statue. Larry David, co-creator of the television shows “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm”; Google co-founder Sergey Brin; and Oprah’s best friend Gayle King are also graduates.
